Tim Chase As far as I can tell there is no relationship here with my family. I do believe my Rice family originally came from Cortland Co. in NY State, and some settled in Coryville, PA. My grandparents were actually married in the Methodist Church of Ceres, NY, which sits partly in NY State and partly in PA. They lived in Port Allegany about two years where my grandfather worked in a glass factory. About 1903 or thereabouts they moved to Main Settlement, East Portville, NY, where they purchased a farm from Crandall ancestors. Grampa always had a herd of milk cows, and two frisky black horses.

There is every reason to think they are related. In the photo of GW Rice was Lucy "Lucy Palmyra Crandal"?

Tim Chase - I have been on the phone with brother Dick Rice, who has so much more genealogy info. than I have. He also has the ability to remember things of this nature so much better than I. So......
Dick has agreed tonight, to get with this give and take stuff, and fill in some holes, and straighten out some of the boo boos I may have made. Dick will get at it tomorrow. I will be as interested as you are, to see what Dick comes up with ! He does seem to think there is a relationship as we discussed above. Bye for this time ! ????

Dick and I worked together years ago on this line. I'm sure there are corrections to be made.

Tim Chase Yes, Dick remembers working with you years ago on the family genealogy. It is interesting to me, and I used to do some family research, but gave it up years ago. I guess we can say that Dick is now the sole genealogist of the Rice family!

Tina B. Washburn married Albert Eugene Rice (1878-1947) abt 1900. Albert's father was Leonard Delos Rice (1845-1893). His father was Leonard Rice (1806-1850). I haven't connected the latter Leonard to parents, but am reasonably sure they are Justus (1775-1863) and Mary Polly Barnet (1784-1856).

OOPS! Justus is my 3rd great grandfather. Looks like I need to do some more digging to verify, or not.

Arthur Nelson I'm not 100% sure of the connection, but sure of my line to John Rice abt 1694-1687/88 purportedly a son of Edmund.
