(Main) Stillman. Augustus Hull was her 1st husband. They were married September 29, 1863 and he died May 13, 1865. Rowland Andrew Barber was her 2nd husband. They were married April 25, 1868. Obituary Seventh-Day Baptist The Sabbath Recorder July 21, 1924, Page 95 BARBER.-- Julia Lucinda Stillman was born November 18, 1844, in Madison County, New York, near DeRuyter, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Maxson, June 23, 1924 at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 5 days. At the age of 18 years Miss Stillman was united in marriage with Augustus Hull, son of Elder Varnum Hull, who died in 1864 in the Civil War and was buried at Chattanooga, Tenn. To this union was born - one son, Varnum Augustus Hull, who lives in Anahuis, Texas. Mrs. Hull was again married April 24, 1868 - this time to Rowland A. Barber, who died November 13, 1911. To them were born two children - Rowland E. Barber of Portville, New York and - Mrs. Julia M. Maxson of Little Genesee, New York. Mrs. Barber united with the church at an early age and for many years had been a member of the East Portville Seventh Day Baptist church. There remain to mourn her departure besides the immediate family; - one step-daughter, Mrs. Flora Clark of Little Genesee; two half-sisters, - Mrs. DeEtte Coon of Nortonville, Kansas, and - Mrs. Adelia Maxson of North Loup, Nebraska; also nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a large group of friends. Farewell services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Maxson, on the afternoon of June 26, 1924 with Pastor G. D. Hargis officiating. - Interment was at the East Portville Cemetery. I have transcribed them as best I could in hopes that they would help someone find that missing date, name or place. I appologize in advance for any errors or typos. The writing was often faded and the handwriting was not easy to decipher. I am not sure of the source of these papers, though the death and birth records look semi-official. Olean Times Wednesday, November 15, 1911 p.3, col.4 DEATH OF HIGHLY RESPECTED CITIZEN R.A. Barber of Portville Passed Away Quietly In His 85th Year Portville, Nov. 15. (Special.)-- At eight o'clock Monday evening, R. A. Barber quietly passed away. He had been very low for several weeks. R. A. Barber was in his eighty-fifth year having been born in Wiredville, Rhode Island, on Dec. 17, 1827, and was a son of Samuel E. and Nancy Crandall Barber. Since the age of three, he has made his home in this vicinity, but has been a resident of this village for only two years. On the 21st of December, 1848, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Main, who died Jan. 1, 1867. But on April 25, 1868 he married Julia Stillman, who survives him. Besides his aged wife, he is survived by one son, - R. E. Barber of this place and by three daughters, - Mrs. A. C. Sanford, - Mrs. Dora Maxson, and - Mrs. H. B. Clark of Little Genesee, and by one sister, - Mrs. Martha Barber of Barber Settlement. The funeral will be held at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. G. P. To them were born two children - Rowland E. Barber of Portville, New York and - Mrs. Julia M. Maxson of Little Genesee, New York. Mrs. Barber united with the church at an early age and for many years had been a member of the East Portville Seventh Day Baptist church. There remain to mourn her departure besides the immediate family; - one step-daughter, Mrs. Flora Clark of Little Genesee; two half-sisters, - Mrs. DeEtte Coon of Nortonville, Kansas, and - Mrs. Adelia Maxson of North Loup, Nebraska; also nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a large group of friends. R.A. Barber of Portville Passed Away Quietly In His 85th Year
Portville, Nov. 15. (Special.)--
At eight o'clock Monday evening, R. A. Barber quietly passed away. He had been very low for several weeks. R. A. Barber was in his eighty-fifth year having been born in Wiredville, Rhode Island, on Dec. 17, 1827, and was a son of Samuel E. and Nancy Crandall Barber.
Since the age of three, he has made his home in this vicinity, but has been a resident of this village for only two years. On the 21st of December, 1848, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Main, who died Jan. 1, 1867. But on April 25, 1868 he married Julia Stillman, who survives him.
Besides his aged wife, he is survived by one son,
- R. E. Barber of this place
and by three daughters,
- Mrs. A. C. Sanford,
- Mrs. Dora Maxson, and
- Mrs. H. B. Clark of Little Genesee,
and by one sister,
- Mrs. Martha Barber of Barber Settlement.
The funeral will be held at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. G. P. Kenyon of Richburg officiating and the interment at Main Settlement.

NANCY IRENE CRANDALL Obituary

In Ceres, Pa., Oct. 16, 1884, Mrs. Nancy Crandall, wife of Andrew Barber, aged 81 years, 7 months, and 27 days. She lived with her husband about sixty-two years. They were baptized by Eld. W. B. Gillette, and united with the Second Genesee Church. This aged couple, who seemed so nearly all the world to each other, resided in their own ancient, comfortable home near the residence of their son Rowland Barber. Everybody's Aunt Nancy was noted for her care for the poor. H. P. B.

Julia Lucinda (Stillman) Hull Barber was the daughter of Robert and Philura L. (Main) Stillman.
Augustus Hull was her 1st husband. They were married September 29, 1863 and he died May 13, 1865.
Rowland Andrew Barber was her 2nd husband. They were married April 25, 1868.

BARBER.-- Julia Lucinda Stillman was born November 18, 1844, in Madison County, New York, near DeRuyter, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Maxson, June 23, 1924 at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 5 days.
At the age of 18 years Miss Stillman was united in marriage with Augustus Hull, son of Elder Varnum Hull, who died in 1864 in the Civil War and was buried at Chattanooga, Tenn. To this union was born
- one son, Varnum Augustus Hull, who lives in Anahuis, Texas.
Mrs. Hull was again married April 24, 1868 - this time to Rowland A. Barber, who died November 13, 1911. To them were born two children
- Rowland E. Barber of Portville, New York and
- Mrs. Julia M. Maxson of Little Genesee, New York.
Mrs. Barber united with the church at an early age and for many years had been a member of the East Portville Seventh Day Baptist church. There remain to mourn her departure besides the immediate family;
- one step-daughter, Mrs. Flora Clark of Little Genesee;
two half-sisters,
- Mrs. DeEtte Coon of Nortonville, Kansas, and
- Mrs. Adelia Maxson of North Loup, Nebraska;
also nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a large group of friends.
Farewell services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Maxson, on the afternoon of June 26, 1924 with Pastor G. D. Hargis officiating.
- Interment was at the East Portville Cemetery.

Ceres Names, Dates, and Places
The following documents were found in box of papers handed down through the Evans/Evens family and are currently in the possesion of my brother. I have transcribed them as best I could in hopes that they would help someone find that missing date, name or place. I appologize in advance for any errors or typos. The writing was often faded and the handwriting was not easy to decipher. I am not sure of the source of these papers, though the death and birth records look semi-official. My best guess is that they were some sort of church record.

Deaths
What follows was transcribed from what appears to be some sort of semi-official journal or record. Perhaps a church record. It consists of three pages that seem to have been bound in a book. The pages are ruled as one would find in a cash journal. The pages are 14" tall by 6" wide. Judging by the hand writing, I believe entries were made by two individuals over time. One individual capitalized the letter "D" in "Died", the other didn't. The entries seem to have been entered contemporaneously.
