In 1850 census Eve's maiden name is spelled Wiederich which should be correct based on its pronunciation with a long 'e' in the first syllable. However, by the 1880 census and the deaths of her brother and his male children, the name is consistently spelled Weidrich. They had the following children:

Martin served in Company "G" which was raised in Potter County, Pennsylvania under Arch. F. Jones, Captain. The 53rd Regiment commanded by Lieut. Col. Richards McMichael was attached to the Fourth Brigade Commanded by Col. JOHN R. BROOKE and was part of the FIRST DIVISION commanded by Brig. Gen. FRANCIS C. BARLOW.

Laura Lyman Weimer in her diary Jan. 23, 1853: "This day I witnessed that which I never did before. I was down to the Dutch Schoolhouse [Old Red Schoolhouse] to a meeting. Such proceedings, such shaking, such pounding, hopping and talking in the unknown tongue by Cate Weimer and others."
and this note after a letter from Cate to Laroy Lyman: "(Cate, Cathren, and Kathryn appear to be one and the same Parson. She was George Weimer's sister.)"
At this time, she was unmarried and living in the Roulette area.
