  	20190702HAv- obituary, Posted 08 Aug 2014 by mjkwitowski PHYLLIS HOAK November 5, 2008 The Times Observer Phyllis June Warner Hoak, 80, formerly of Coudersport, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at Sweden Valley Manor, surrounded by her son, daughter and granddaughters. She was born in Coudersport on June 21, 1928, the daughter of William Lyle Warner and Ione Austin Warner. Phyllis was an accomplished poet, and artist, and she loved to sing. She was an avid hunter when she was younger. She loved nature and the outdoors and was an avid birdwatcher. Phyllis lived in Coudersport most of her life before moving to Warren in 1970. In Coudersport, she worked at the former A & P grocery store and was then employed for many years at Florence's Dress Shop as a buyer of women's clothes and a sales clerk. In Warren, she worked for Betty Lee Inc., in the same capacity until her retirement. She was a staunch supporter of the Salvation Army. For many, many years in Warren, she volunteered with charitable organizations on Thanksgiving Day and served dinners to those residents who would not otherwise have been afforded a meal. Phyllis was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Coudersport, and for many years attended the Church of the Nazarene in Warren. She is survived by - a son, Donald Jeffrey Hoak, of Warren, and - a daughter, Kimberley Amber Hoak of Coudersport; four granddaughters, - Karestee Renee Hoak, attending college in Pittsburgh, and - Alexxis Marie Hoak, at home in Warren, - Autumn (Shawn) Amber Goodrich Kinnard, of Windburn, and - Cristol Brooke Goodrich, of Roulette; and - a greatgranddaughter Madison Rylee Goodrich, of Roulette. She had one brother, William (Bill) Warner, who with her parents, preceded her in death. Phyllis requested there be no funeral or memorial service. It was her wish that memorials be made to the Salvation Army or to Sweden Valley Manor of Coudersport. A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family, - at the Eulalia Cemetery in Coudersport. Hoak, 41, died Thursday evening from a heart attack. He was found slumped over the wheel of his car near his home in the Shadyside area. He is survived by his wife, former singer Jill Corey, a daughter, Kimberly, 18, and a son, Donald Jeffrey, 13, and a second daughter, Clara Michele, aged five. Friends are being received at the John A. Freyvogel Sons' Funeral Home, 4900 Centre Ave., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today. Burial will be in his home town of Roulette, Potter County.   LifeSketch	"Donald Jeffrey Hoak, “Hoakie,” 57, died Sunday, November 27, 2016, surrounded by his daughters, Karestee and Lex, and sister, Kim, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. He died from complications of lung cancer. Don (Jeff) was born on November 28, 1958 to the late Don \"Tiger\" Hoak, of Roulette, Potter County, PA, and Phyllis Warner Hoak, of Coudersport, Potter County, PA. Don was employed by Penelec of Warren, PA as a Supervisor of Operations for the Line Department at the time of his death. He worked at Penelec for 39 years in various capacities. He was a lineman, worked in the power house, and for 20 years he worked for the IBEW Union. Don was business manager for IBEW Local 459 for 10 years and for 10 years prior he was the assistant business manager and Union Representative for Local 459. Don was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing and spent many seasons enjoying the outdoors with his good friend, C.B. Goodrich of Roulette, and his uncle, Dennis Hoak, formerly of Warren. Don’s greatest treasure was his family and while his work often took him away from home, his family was always first in his life. Don is survived by two daughters, Karestee R. Hoak of Pittsburgh, PA, and Alexxis M. Hoak and grandson, Titus Kole, both of Warren, PA, two sisters, Kimberley Hoak, formerly of Coudersport, and Clara Hoak, formerly of Los Angeles, CA, an uncle, Dennis (Michelle) Hoak, formerly of Warren, PA, two nieces, Autumn Goodrich Kinnard and Cristol Brooke Goodrich Butter, and great niece, Madison Rylee Goodrich. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his daughters, Beth Hoak, and numerous close cousins in Buffalo, NY, and Mississippi. Don had no fear of death. He knew he was going to Heaven to be reunited with his family. Don knew he “fought the good fight” his whole life, and he was content in going home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, PA, with Rev. Jon Swart, Associate Pastor, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Don asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Salvation Army, 311 Beech Street, Warren, PA, 16365. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Donald E.
