Husband Threatened Her, Says Farmer's Wife
Arthur Hinkley, 40, Genesee, R. D. farmer, was arraigned Monday night here on a surety of peace charge lodged by his wife.
Justice William C. Klein fixed bail at $500.00 and released Hinkley is his own recognizance for a preliminary hearing.
The charge grew out of his alleged threat to do bodily harm to his wife if she related a story about him. Mrs. Hinkley, who signed the information against her husband, said he told her she would "stop breathing" if she told on him.
Laura Patterson Sorority- Member At Waynesburg
Miss Laura M. Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vivian R. Patterson of Coudersport, was initiated in Alpha Gamma Theta sorority at Waynesburg College on March 18, according to word received here by her parents. Alpha Theta was founded in 1909 and is the oldest social sorority on the Waynesburg College campus. Miss Patterson was initiated with 15 other girls in a formal ceremony held at the college.
Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Sprowls Expected Home Soon
Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Sprowls, who have been spending the winter months in St. Petersburg, Fla., expect to return to their home near Roulette about April 5.
Trucks Collide
Damage Negligible in Andrews Settlement Mishap.
Two trucks collided at an intersection at Andrews Settlement about 9:45 Tuesday morning.
According to Arthur Hinkley, 40, Genesee, R. D., the vehicle he was operating crashed into the side of a pickup operated by Mrs. Frank Niver, Coudersport, R. D.
Describing the accident as "nobody's fault," Hinkley said the right front wheel of the Niver vehicle was broken. Damage was estimated at $35.00. The other vehicle was not damaged.
The farmer said his truck, loaded with 1,900 pounds of milk, was headed toward Genesee. The other truck was traveling in the opposite direction.
Mrs. Niver reportedly suffered a bruised leg in the mishap. According to Hinkley, she did not require medical attention. The accident had not been reported to State police here up to 3:00 i. m. Tuesday, a trooper reported.

The presentations were made during the postmaster's annual party for postal ' workers and their wives at his home Sunday afternoon and evening. Mr Patterson's and Mr. Potter's certificates were for 29 years of safe driving; Mr. Chapell's for three years and Mr. Sitter's for two.
Unable to be present to accept awards were
- Allen Gutgsell and
- Robert Chamberlin, parcel post car driver who were cited for three and two years of safe driving, respectively.
Mr. Patterson also received an honorary recognition certificate for his long; service to the department. It was signed by Leroy Green, regional operations director, and by Arthur Summerfield, postmaster general.
