"[Mr]s. Doris Cornell
[Mi]ssing Since December 7
[It] was learned this morning from an official source that [the b]ody of a woman found in the Susquehanna River near[the M]aryland line last Friday, has been definitely identified [as th]at of Mrs. Doris Rogers Cornell, 40, who disappeared [from] the home of a sister in Harrisburg last December 7.
[Dor]is Cornell, a registered nurse, was the wife of E. M. [Corne]ll of Roulette, and formerly resided in Coudersport. [Accor]ding to reports made by the family at the time, Mrs. [Corne]ll had been in ill health for some months and had gone [to her]sister's home in Harrisburg to rest and to consult a [specia]list. On the evening of December 7, 1946, Mrs. Cornell [disap]peared, after telling her sister she was going to a near-[by dr]ug store. All efforts of the family and the State Police [to loc]ate her proved futile.
[Th]e body was identified by the dead woman's husband, [Merle] Cornell, and her sister, Mrs. George Norton, of Harrisburg.
Private funeral services will be conducted from the [???]ner Funeral Home in Roulette on Monday afternoon, [May] 5. Survivors include the husband, a nine year old son, [her p]arents, who reside in Emporium, and two sisters. A [young]er brother was killed in action in 1943 while serving [???] the armed forces.
