• JACOB STARK IS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Well Known and Respected Citizen Passed Away at 'Home on Vine Street Yesterday -Was Native of Germany
Jacob J. Stark, 56, well known and respected Shamokin resident, died at his home, 4 South Vine street, at 2 o'clock ill yesterday afternoon, death being attributed to a complication of diseases.
Mr. Stark was stricken early last week and within a short time his condition became exceedingly critical. Despite the best efforts of the attending physician and the devoted ministrations of loved ones, he failed to rally, the spark of life ebbing steadily lower until death came yesterday.
The deceased was born in Germany, having been a son of Mr. and Mrs Mathias Stark. He came to America with his parents when five years old, the family locating In Shamokin. where the deceased had since resided.
Mr. Stark was a man of genial temperament, was deeply devoted to his family and had a legion of friends who sincerely mourn his death.
Until illness overtook him, Mr. Stark had been employed at the Cameron colliery. He was a member of St. Edward's church.
Surviving are his wife and the following children.
Mathew, Jacob, Jr, Joseph. Francis, James, Robert, Mrs. Albert Kelser, Mrs. John Reidlnger, Catherine and Helen. Also the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Walter Klemick, Reading, Mrs. Frank Weikel, Reading, Joseph Stark, Shamokin and Miss Catherine Stark, also of this city.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the St. Edwards church with solemn high mass. Burial will be made In the St. Edward's cemetery..
