He was born on Jan. 12, 1950, in Austin, son of Robert Peno and Louise Keck. Robert graduated from Mansfield University with a teaching degree and entered the Marine Corps in 1974. He served for 10 years and was honorably discharged with the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal. After his military service Robert worked in New York at Aeroflex Systems Inc. and Ease Systems Inc. He moved to Washington, D.C. to work at RJO Enterprises for four years. He then moved to New Jersey and worked at Venntronix Corporation and Telcordia Communications. He is survived by his longtime partner, Luane Vizi; his sister, Linda Guzzie; and four children, - LeeAnn Norris, - Tracey Figurelli, - Danielle Wadsworth and - Mandi Lewis; seven grandchildren; one nephew; and one niece. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life was held on Friday, Sept. 8, 2012, at 9 a.m., at the Richmond Hill Funeral Home. - Burial will be at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C. with military honors at noon on Friday.
