SYLVESTER BAXTER
Sylvester Baxter passed away at his home in Austin July 12 after a several weeks' illness. He was born at Hammersley Fork, Pa., Apr. 18, 1859, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Baxter. In the year 1879 he was united in marriage to Ellen Hammersley, and in the year 1927 was married to Cornelia Knickerbocker, both deceased. The following children survive:
Alonzo Baxter, Shintown, Pa.;
Clara Campbell, Austin;
Alfred Baxter, Sheffield, and
Elsie Kelley, Renovo.
Several brothers and sisters also survive.
The pall bearers were
John Lechler, Charles Kepler,
James Stuart, William Snyder,
John Moore and Vernon Summerson.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Renovo Methodist Church. A prayer was held from the home at 1:15 o'clock. Rev. Witchey of Austin and Rev. Mackie of Howard, Pa., officiated.
- Burial was made in the Renovo Cemetery.
I MRS. MARY BAKER
Mrs. Mary Baker passed away at the county home July 13 after being ill only a short time. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Campbell. In early life, she was united in marriage to Daniel Baker, who survives.
She is also survived by two sisters and a brother,
Dora Campbell, Olean,
Elizabeth Smith, Gaines, and
Douglas Campbell of Gaines.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the county home with Rev. R. W. Wing officiating and
- burial was made in the County Home Cemetery.
