Mr. and Mrs. William L. Butler
Miss Marilyn Greene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Greene, and William L. Butler, son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Butler, were united in marriage Saturday (June 28) at 2:00 p. m. in the Free Methodist Church, Coudersport.
The Rev. Glenn Hamilton, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of chantilly lace with long sleeves ending in points over the fingers and a sabrine neckline. The skirt was of crystal pleated ruffles of tulle with a panel of lace in the front and a panel forming the cathedral train in the back, with an elbow length veil of white lace and pearls. She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid and streamers. Her only jewelry was a small cross with a centered pearl, a gift of the bridegroom.
Miss Karilyn Greene, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the Misses Donna Butler, sister of bridegroom; Joan Long and Cecelia Rapchick. Miss Eveck Houghtaling, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl, and Wayne Greene, another cousin, was ring bearer.
The bridegroom's brother, Paul Butler, was best man. Ushers were Noah Knauer and Richard Russell, of Coudersport, and Gene Card, of Sterling Run.
A reception for 200 guests was held in the Sweden Valley Grange Hall. The newlyweds left for a trip to the Adirondack Mountains and Canada.
Pre-marital showers were given by Cecelia Rapchick, Joan Long, Thelma Swift, Gladys Pepperman and Mrs. Helen Grigsby. A rehearsal party was given by Mrs. Donna Sitter and Mrs. Virginia Baker..
