Carroll B. Larrabee Elected President of Printers' Ink Publishing Company, Inc. in New York.

Carroll B. Larrabee, who first saw the light of day in Coudersport, son of Attorney and Mrs. L.E. Larrabee, has been elected president of Printers' Ink Publishing Company, Inc., of New York, succeeding C. Roy Dickinson who has resigned to enter active service as a lieutenant-colonel.
Mr. Larrabee joined Printers' Ink in 1921. In 1928 he became an associate editor, and since 1933 he has been managing editor. In 1941 he was made a director of the company. Previously Mr. Larrabee worked as a reporter on the Bradford Era, and later as a field worker with Tide-Water Oil Co.
He has authored, co-authored and edited several books. He was sole author of "How to Package for Profit." In collaboration with Henry W. Marks, advertising director of Printers' Ink, he wrote "Tested Selling Ideas", "Check Lists of Advertising, Selling and Merchandising Essentials", and "Tested Display Ideas." With E.B. Weiss and F.C. Kendall he edited "Handbook of Advertising", and also "How to Sell Through Wholesalers."
Mr. Larrabee is a graduate of the Peddie School and Brown University. During the last World War he served overseas. At present he is a resident of Riverside, Conn.
The Enterprise has brought from its files an engraving of Mr. Larrabee as he appeared 'way back in World War I days. A quarter century has made a change in his appearance but this is how he is remembered here.

OLD GREENWICH, Conn., Nov. 18 -- Mrs. Louise Berfield Larrabee, mother of Carroll B. Larrabee, president of Printers Ink publishing company of New York, died today in the Greenwich Municipal Hospital after a long illness. Her age was 72.
Surviving, besides her husband and son, are two granddaughters, Donna and Elizabeth Larrabee of Old Greenwich.

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Herbstritt and daughter, of Coudersport, R. D., called at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Herbstritt. Sunday.
LOUISE BERFIELD LARRABEE, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES
Louise Berfield Larrabee, for many years a resident of Coudersport, died in Old Greenwich, Conn., November 18, 1943.
Mrs. Larrabee was born in First Fork, Pa., on February 12, 1871. In 1883 she moved to Coudersport where she graduated from the local high school. In 1892 she married Leon E. Larrabee. She was the mother of two children, Carlos Benjamin, who died in infancy, and Carroll Burton, who is president of the Printers' Ink Publishing Company, New York City.
During her life in Coudersport she was prominent in the work of the Methodist Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the S. H. G. for many years.
In 1905 whe moved to Bradford, Pa., where she lived until 1924. In Bradford she continued her interest in church work. She was also president of the Women's Literary Club of Bradford. In 1924 she moved to Columbus, Ohio, and in 1927 to Los Angeles, Calif.
In 1929 she returned to the East to make her residence in Old Greenwich, Conn. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding in 1942. She had been ill for nearly two years.
She is survived by her husband, her son, Carroll, and two granddaughters, Donna and Elizabeth Larrabee, all of Old Greenwich.
