Sister of Publisher's Wife Died At Scio Residence
Mrs. Margaret S. Potter of Scio, N. Y., died suddenly Saturday (Nov. 29, 1969) at her home of an apparent heart attack. She had lived in Scio for 52 years.
Mrs. Potter was born in Coudersport, Feb. 16, 1890, a daughter of Irvin and Anna Warner Stevens.
She married Louis F. Potter Jan. 1, 1916. He died in 1962.
She was a former clerk in the Genesee Grange Bank, and worked for many years in Friendship for the Allegany County Farmers Cooperative Insurance Company. A member of Scio Methodist Church, she was treasurer of WSCS.
Mrs. Potter is survived by
a daughter, Mrs. Hobart (Virginia) Harder of Wellsville;
two sons,
- Louis F. Potter Jr., Tucson, Ariz., and
- John S. Potter, Scio;
a sister, Mrs. William D. (Grace) Fish of Coudersport, and
a brother, Fay W. Stevens of Sarasota, Fla.;
13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held yesterday at Mullholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville. The Rev. William B. Grossman, pastor of Scio Methodist Church, officiated.
Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio."

"MRS. WILLIAM D. FISH
COUDERSPORT - Mrs. Grace S. Fish of this community, died Tuesday (Oct. 22, 1974) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital following an illness of many years.
Born in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Irvin and Anna Warner Stevens.
On Oct. 28, 1915, in Coudersport, she married William D. Fish, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Fish was a graduate of Coudersport High School and taught in country schools in Potter County.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Fish and been employed by the Potter county Journal and for many years was employed by the former Rosenbloom Men and Boys' Store, retiring in 1961.
She was member of Christ Episcopal Church of Coudersport; and a 50 year member of Eulalia chapter of the OES.
Surviving are
- a son, William D. Fish of Coudersport;
two daughters,
- Mrs. Joseph (Barbara) Heimel of Coudersport and
- Mrs. John (Patricia) Graves F [sic] Lebanon, Tenn.;
nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;
- a sister-in-law, Mrs. Fay W. Stevens of Sarasota, Fla.;
and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received at the Lindhome funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Friday (Oct. 25, 1974) at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Feick, pastor of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating.
- Burial will be in Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport.
The family request memorials be made to Christ Episcopal church, the American Heart Association, or the charity of the donor's choice."

- Mrs. John (Patricia) Graves F [sic] Lebanon, Tenn.;
nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;

and several nieces and nephews.

- OBITUARY
"MRS. WILLIAM D. FISH
COUDERSPORT - Mrs. Grace S. Fish of this community, died Tuesday (Oct. 22, 1974) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital following an illness of many years.
Born in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Irvin and Anna Warner Stevens.
On Oct. 28, 1915, in Coudersport, she married William D. Fish, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Fish was a graduate of Coudersport High School and taught in country schools in Potter County.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Fish and been employed by the Potter county Journal and for many years was employed by the former Rosenbloom Men and Boys' Store, retiring in 1961.
She was member of Christ Episcopal Church of Coudersport; and a 50 year member of Eulalia chapter of the OES.
Surviving are
- a son, William D. Fish of Coudersport;
two daughters,
- Mrs. Joseph (Barbara) Heimel of Coudersport and
- Mrs. John (Patricia) Graves F [sic] Lebanon, Tenn.;
nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;
- a sister-in-law, Mrs. Fay W. Stevens of Sarasota, Fla.;
and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received at the Lindhome funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Friday (Oct. 25, 1974) at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Feick, pastor of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating.
- Burial will be in Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport.
The family request memorials be made to Christ Episcopal church, the American Heart Association, or the charity of the donor's choice."

"Mrs. Louis F. Potter
Sister of Publisher's Wife Died At Scio Residence
Mrs. Margaret S. Potter of Scio, N. Y., died suddenly Saturday (Nov. 29, 1969) at her home of an apparent heart attack. She had lived in Scio for 52 years.
Mrs. Potter was born in Coudersport, Feb. 16, 1890, a daughter of Irvin and Anna Warner Stevens.
She married Louis F. Potter Jan. 1, 1916. He died in 1962.
She was a former clerk in the Genesee Grange Bank, and worked for many years in Friendship for the Allegany County Farmers Cooperative Insurance Company. A member of Scio Methodist Church, she was treasurer of WSCS.
Mrs. Potter is survived by
a daughter, Mrs. Hobart (Virginia) Harder of Wellsville;
two sons,
- Louis F. Potter Jr., Tucson, Ariz., and
- John S. Potter, Scio;
a sister, Mrs. William D. (Grace) Fish of Coudersport, and
a brother, Fay W. Stevens of Sarasota, Fla.;
13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held yesterday at Mullholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville. The Rev. William B. Grossman, pastor of Scio Methodist Church, officiated.
Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio."
