She was married to Melvin Wackwitz who passed away in June of 1966 from a tractor trailer accident. She then married Harold "Jr." Carpenter. Ida had 7 children. - Keith Jackson Sr., - Rose Jackson (who passed away in 1996 from a gun shot from estranged husband) - Sharon (Jackson) Kio, - Carl Jackson (who passed away a couple of years ago from cancer, - Carol (Jackson) Kibbe and - Gene Jackson.
