My fathet sold the farm to Art. Dad was born in the house. My grandfather and grandmother ran the farm and store in Larabee.

Warren David White Sr., 87, of Sweden Valley died on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1923, in Ladona, son of Warren E. and Marguerite Huff White.
On Feb. 3, 1951, he married Nellie Rose Haselton, and they later divorced.
On July 5, 1966, in Coudersport he married G. Roberta Nunes Briggs, who died on April 16, 1987.
Mr. White was a lifelong farmer.
He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Army Air Force.
He was a lifelong member of Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church, was superintendent of Highways, a former Potter County Commissioner, and long-time board member of the Northern Tier Children's Home.
He is survived by
- one son, Reverend Warren David White Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn.;
- one daughter, Marjory White Skaran of Spring Valley, Minn.;
two stepsons,
- Jack R. Briggs of Hampstead, N.C., and
- Frederick "Butch" Briggs of Camp Hill;
20 grandchildren and step-grandchildren;
28 great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren;
two brothers,
- Raymond E. White of N. Canton, Ohio and
- Arthur A. White of Eldred;
- one sister, Elizabeth Petrovcik, of Katonah, N.Y.;
two half-sisters,
- Anna (Earl) Jordan of Genesee and
- Ruth A. White of Roulette;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
- wife;
- a step-daughter, Marilou Wright; and
two brothers,
- William F. White and
- Thomas White;
- one sister, Jocelyn White; and
- one half-sister, Carol V. White; and
- a half-brother, Paul White; and
- a step-granddaughter, Roberta Briggs.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church with the Reverend Thomas Shatto officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the church by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.
- Burial will be in Eulalia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church.
