Thanks to Susan Dunn Alexander for revealing these photos to me.
There are a few relatives of members of this group in these two photographs.
In the SOPHOMORE CLASS OF 1916 - 1917
- ...
In the Class of 1923
- Edythe Snyder - daughter of Arch & Anna Tauscher Snyder, granddaughter of William & Mary Neefe Snyder, great granddaughter of Michael & Catherine Shay Snyder, great great granddaughter of Richard & Elizabeth Roberts Shay, great great great granddaughter of Peter & Rebecca VanWinkel Roberts.
Also, Edythe, through Mary Neefe is connected to my children through their mother, Christine Neefe, descendant of the grandfather of Mary Elizabeth Neefe, Edward Franz & Helena Friest Neefe, as well as the great grandparents of Arch Snyder, Jacob & Catherine Housknecht Snyder.
Yes, the roots of our Potter County ancestors are a complex entanglement!

Metta Nelson listed in the 1923 photo was my mother's cousin. And not sure if the Higley is related to my mother as her mother was a Higley.

Does this help with your Higley connection?

As with the multiple daughters of Albert & Dorothy Fuller Davey family, who lived and married along route 49 out of Coudersport, PA, the many daughters of Emil & Wilhelmina Kortz Mosch, married men who lived along route 49.
Minnie Mosh, seen in this photo, was the last born of their 6 daughters. Though one died as a toddler the rest all married along route 49. Paul Lynn Gardner will be familiar with this family tree.
