Pretty Wedding
Roulette Church Scene of Beautiful Ceremony.
One of the season's prettiest weddings took place Wednesday, June 30, at the Roulette Baptist Church when Miss Shirley Marie Weimer, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rayburn Weimer Sr., was united in marriage to Paul Albert Tucker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tucker.
The double ring ceremony took place before a bridal bower of evergreen and white gladolia and fifty white lighted tall tapers made a very pretty sight. Rev F. L, Mitchell officiated.
The bride, on her father's arm approached the bridal path between the pews laced with evergreen and white satin ribbon and white bows with the traditional wedding march, The bride was given in marriage by her father and was charming in a white brocaded nylon fitted bodice of the shoulder neckline and illusion top and bouffant skirt of nylon over taffeta entrain. The illusion veil with wide lace and or ange blossoms fell from a beaded tiara. She carried an arm bouquet of white gardenia with white satin streamers and wore a pearl necklace, a gift from the groom.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents on Maple Street for about sixty guests.
The bride's table was attractive centered with a three tiered wedding cake topped with miniature bride and groom. Tall pink tapers and pink roses completed the decorations.
The bride and groom received many lovely gifts.
They left for a trip which included Keuka Lake, Niagara Falls, Rochester, Canada and Elmira.
The bride is a graduate of the Roulette High School, class of 1947. The groom was in the service, 82nd Airborne Division, and a paratrooper for three years. Both the newly weds have attended the Baptist Bible Seminary at Johnson City, N. Y., the past year and expect to enter this fall. The groom is at present employed with the Susquehanna Company.
