Ah yes I vaguely remember a tale about a relative who was a grocer and got sepsis or something from a barrel of veg? 44w Susan Farnsworth Elizabeth Castle died after putting her hand in some Brussel sprouts. She was born in 1860. She was Nan's Grandmother on her Mother's side. 44w Susan Farnsworth I can't see you in him either. I used to say that Kevin looked like Uncle Tom but your Mum would say ' He (Kevin) is the image of my Father'. 45w Robert Farnsworth He may have had red hair when younger .I can not remember his hair I was only 4 when he died. He was only 62 when he died of Pneumonia. 45w Susan Farnsworth I never knew either of my Grandad's as they both died before my second birthday when they were in their early 60's. Times seemed much harder then - one of them even used to carry on working through minor heart attacks because of the worry of not taking money home! 45w Robert Farnsworth He was blown up in the first world war lay in a shell whole for three days bleeding to death. Found by the Germans taken to a prisoner of war camp where they operated on him giving him plastic surgery years before we did it in England. He was only able to walk with sticks but in 1951 was give a modified Morris minor then later was hit by a dust cart badly injured and caught pneumonia. 45w Susan Farnsworth Yes - wasn't he put back together by pig sinue? 1 45w Robert Farnsworth Alledgedly but I doubt that it would reject and they had no drugs to stop it. 45w Adam Farnsworth Robert Farnsworth nan insisted he was and she had a letter from the german soldier sent to him while in field hospital 1 44w Robert Farnsworth I will have a look but have never seen a letter. 44w Robert Farnsworth I saw his red cross notes when he was swapped for a German prisoner as he was too badly wounded to go back on active service. 44w Mavis Hill Befor grandad was given the Morris he use to have a hand driven three wheeler I can remember seeing him in it when I was very young. 44w Robert Farnsworth Yes it was hand cranked and dark blue I have seen pictures of it. I was too young to remember it.
