Barbara J. Neefe
June 24, 1950 - October 18, 2023
Coudersport, Pa.
Barbara J. Neefe “beloved wife, mom, and Mimom”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.---In loving memory of Barbara J. (McCloud) Neefe, who was born in Port Allegany on June 24, 1950, to Carl D. and Sarah E. Houpt McCloud. She was a remarkable soul who graced this world until to her final moments on October 18, 2023. Barb’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and the joy she spread among those lucky enough to know her.
On December 26,1970, she married the hunk next door, Richard C. Neefe III, her devoted husband of nearly 53 years. She was a lifelong Coudersport resident, where she raised her family and ran her business.
Barb was a devoted mother to her three children, Amber, Kristin, and Richard. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she took immense pride in watching them grow and succeed. She was not just a mother; she was their biggest cheerleader, confidante, and a source of unwavering support. Some of her favorite Mimom moments were picking up seashells, “butts in the air”, with Carson and Madison along the beach.
For over 30 years, Barb was the proud owner of a beloved beauty shoppe, where she touched the lives of countless clients, not just with her scissors, but with her kindness and compassion. She had a talent for making people feel beautiful both inside and out. Barb’s talents extended beyond the salon. She was a culinary magician, constantly experimenting with new recipes and delighting her family and friends with her delicious creations. Her home was a place of warmth and love, where she generously shared her culinary artistry.
For over 20 years, she was the ultimate public relations guru for her daughter's restaurant, Sweden Valley Inn, showcasing her dedication to her family and her knack for promoting the things she loved. Barb was an extraordinary baker, and her desserts were legendary. The way she mixed, measured, and poured love into everything was truly remarkable.
Her volunteer time was so important to her, and she dedicated countless hours to Volunteers Who Care, the Look Good…Feel Better Program, and Relay for Life to name a few.
Barb had an infectious sense of humor and a love for jokes that could light up a room. She found joy in hearing and telling a good joke, bringing laughter wherever she went. Her smile was a reflection of her joyful spirit.
Above all, Barb was a beacon of love and kindness. She had a heart as vast as the ocean and held no malice within. Her capacity for love was boundless, and she embraced everyone she met with open arms.
In her passing, we remember Barb not with sorrow, but with a celebration of a life well-lived. She left an indelible mark on our hearts, and her legacy of love and laughter will continue to brighten our lives. People might forget what you say, but they never forget how you make them feel. Barb made everyone feel like they mattered.
Rest in peace, dear Barbie, and may your memory be a reminder to all of us to live life with the same love, compassion, and joy you so generously shared with the world.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of almost 53 years; three children, Amber Lynn (Charles) Fowler of Coudersport, Kristin Marie (Dean Meyer) Neefe of Watrous, and Richard Charles IV (Matthew Niles) Neefe of Coudersport; two grandchildren, Carson (Shayleen) Tucker and Madison Kottwitz; and a brother, William (Leila) McCloud of Arizona.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Barb’s Life from 1pm to 4 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the Coudersport Golf Club, 839 Cherry Springs Rd, Coudersport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barb’s name may be made to Volunteers Who Care, PO Box 750, Coudersport PA 16915
Barb entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.

Not much i can say any different reading through the guest book. Barb could make signature desserts like no other. I believe she could do it with her eyes shut. She cracked the whip at SVI and loved being the greeter welcoming everyone in. Our sincere sympathy to the family. Rest easy Barb.

My dear Barbie was my best friend. We had more fun and laughs. We went on many trips together and laughed all the way.
I will always love her. She would always visit us and one of her favorite things was to rub my husband's bald head (Skip). She always said we were "sisters from another mother".
Our love is with her family.
Love,

We always knew when she was gonna tell that stupid rooster joke because she was ripping up pieces of paper towels. When she sat and rolled the silverware, she made sure there was absolutely no spots on them

Barbara would always sit with us and chat while we were at Sweden Valley Inn. She was a very lovely
person and we always looked forward to seeing her while we were in Potter. Her coleslaw was the best and we compared recipes on it. Our deepest sympathy to Amber and family, she will be greatly missed.

Barbie is a big part of my family, she is my Mom's best friend but is truly and dearly part of our family. After a week or two of not having her stop by for a visit someone would say I wonder how Barbie is doing then she would show up. We will miss her beautiful smile her wonderful jokes and her positive attitude for life. She is our angel, we laughed and cried together. She would come in the house and go right to my Dad and kiss the top of his bald head then give a hug to anyone that wanted one. Love and miss you Barbie??

Barb was the toughest mentor and the kindest, most steadfast friend. I was on the same hospital floor as her father, Chick McCloud, and we made quick friends. I got my first job washing dishes in Amber's restaurant and boy, oh boy, did Barb make sure every plate was spotless. Fast forward 25 years later I still dry everything by hand :) She also sent me off to college with $25 worth of quarters because she wanted to make sure I had money for laundry. I will miss her warmth, that sharp but fair wit, and her ability to call it like it is. I hate that she's gone and will love her forever.

Barb was such a beautiful soul. She touched my life in my early adult years while working at Sweden Valley. She always had a smile on her face. She has a special place in my heart & her legendary chocolate Texas sheet cake with nuts will never be forgotten! Amber, Rich & Kristen may you find strength, peace & comfort in the coming days. Your mother was a "mom" to many.
