• 'Father of The Bride'
Junior Class to Present Popular Comedy Success Two Nights.
"Father of the Bride," the popular three-act comedy and recent movie success, will be presented on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, by the junior class of Coudersport High School.
Based on the novel by Edward Streeter, this play was especially made from the celebrated best seller, "Father of the Bride." What with the success of the novel and of the equally popular motion picture of the same title, little remains to be said. The film, starring Spencer Tracy, enjoyed phenomenal success.
"Father of the Bride" is one of the most widely used and popular dramatic successes of the little theater and college circuit this season. The role of Father, Mr. Banks, will be played by Harold Hackett, and the role of Mrs. Banks, his wife, by Roberta Golden. The daughter, Kay, will be played by Madge Metzger, and Buckley Dunstan, her fiance, is Frank Caldwell. Other members of the Banks family are John Goodman as Ben Banks and Tom Freeman as Tommy Banks. In the role of Deliah, the maid, and Miss Belhemy, are Gail Rosenbloom and Catherine Auten, respectively. Others in the cast are Gary Predmore, Barbara Schutt, Bill Brocklebank, Phyllis Sereno, Philip Cammack, Ruth Nelson, Everett Blass, Harvey Hosley, Maralee Stearns, Arlene Weiss and Arden Pelchy.
Tickets are on sale by members of the junior class and may be purchased by adults for use Friday or Saturday night. However, Friday night is being reserved for an all-adult audience.
Two Groups of Bluebirds Busy With Projects
The two groups of Bluebirds, under the leadership of Mrs. Kenneth Tauscher and Mrs. J. L. Coppersmith, have been busy with various projects. The group received a letter of appreciation from the Coudersport Memorial Hospital for their having made and given favors for Easter for the patients in the hospital at that time. The favors consisted of bunny baskets, made by the little girls, and filled with. Easter candies contributed by them.
They enjoyed a lively Easter party during that season and are currently working on their Bluebird! Books which include the Bluebird" songs and the Bluebird wish among other things. More than 20 girls are enjoying their club organization activities within the two groups.

I have hundreds of marbles that I won from Monte ( whom we called Buddy back then) when we were kids. I didn’t recall that he played quarterback. Such a good guy.

Yes and he was a great teacher. I didn't have him but my brother, Steve, did and thought highly of him. One story about Monte is long before school breakfasts, he noticed one of his student came to school each morning, hungry. So,he started taking a breakfast they could share before class, sparing the student humiliation and getting him or her off to a good start for the day.
