WOODSMAN - FARMER
Adam Seyler Died at Port Allegany Yesterday Afternoon as a Result of Terrible Injuries That He Received.
Port Allegany, Nov. 22 - A woodsman farmer, Adam Seyler, of the Liberty section, was so badly injured Thursday night, some time between the 7 o'clock and the 11 o'clock trains that he died yesterday. A fellow by the name of Edwin Ralph, who is now in the lockup, sobering up, was with him, but professes to know but little about the accident.
Some time about midnight Ralph notified Will Grigsby who is working nights at the Wyman chemical plant and he found the man near the crossing that leads to the plant from the highway. He was awfully injured. Several ribs are fractured, one of which punctured the lung, the skull fractured, a compound fracture of the arm and a deep gash in the side over the hip....
Ralph doesn't seem to be able to give any coherent information relative to the time between the arrival of the train at Liberty and his notification of Grigsby. Yesterday afternoon at the McGranor hospital Seyler died. The remains were taken to the Garthwaist undertaking rooms where they were prepared for burial. A wife and several children survive him.
He was 42 years of age and lived on a small farm near Wrights....
A son who has employment at Sheffield, is expected tonight and details will then be arranged. The company's surgeon notified Coroner Sherman at Bradford and he is making a further investigation.
