Miss Jean Masolotte Is Wed Here To Houtzdale Man
Becomes Bride of Abednego P. Mills Jr. in Ceremony Before Altar of Pompons in St. Eulalia Catholic Church Here.
The marriage of Miss Jean Marie Marolotte, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Masolotte Sr., to Abednego Pitman Mills Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Mills, Houtzdale, Pa., was solemnized Saturday.
The ceremony was performed at 10:00 a. m., at St. Eulalia Church by the Rev. F. M. O'Connell. The church was decorated with vases of white gladioli pompons.
Escorted by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of chantilly lace over satin fashioned with tight bodice with Queen Anne collar edged with pearls, long sleevas ending in points over the hands and skirt ending in chapel length train. Her fingertip length veil of imported French illusion edged with chantilly lace, fell from a Juliet cap of lace and satin edged with pearls. She carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid.
Mrs. Beverly Pfuntner was matron of honor and Miss Elizabeth Mills and Miss Faye Hackett were bridesmaids. They wore gowns of gothic green and empire gold taf feta fashioned with tight bodices and cap sleeves. Short mitts and Juliet caps with tiny veils of nylon tulle completed their outfits. They carried sunburst bouquets of daisy mums in shades of gold. The flower girl, Brenda Kenealy, cousin of the bride, wore a mist green taffeta gown and Queen Anne bonnet tied with nylon tulle.
James Henderson acted as best man. Quentin Masolotte and Forrest Jarrett were ushers. James Mills, cousin of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
The bride's mother chose a black faille suit with black accessories, coral hat and corsage of pinochio roses. The bridegroom's mother selected a navy blue dress with matching accessories and corsage of roses.
A wedding dinner was served at the Old Hickory Tavern for 60 guests. The table was decorated with vases of white gladioli and pompons.
The couple will reside at Houtzdale.
Mrs. Mills is a graduate of Coudersport High School and attended Rochester Business Institute. Mr. Mills graduated from Houtzdale High School and is employed as engineer with the Pennsylvania Department of Highways.
Pre-nuptial parties included a shower by Miss Ethel Shaw, Miss Faye Hackett and Mrs. Jack Pfuntner.
