I believe Phillip Sykes was the relative herein referenced: "... he finally consented (to accompany Lewis and Clark on their voyage to the interior), and accompanied the party during the first three months travel, but then declined going any further, and returned home. Shortly after this, he left again on a flatboat, and never reurned. He visited a relative named Philip Sikes, living about twenty miles in the interior from Natchez, and there made his home until the summer of 1808, when he died."

Yes.......... you are related to the Six's by marriage, the 3 Bonnett sister married Wetzel, Waggoner, and Conrad Six. A Story about Christiana Six, Conrad, daughter. She was captured by Indians in a raid in Greene Co. PA around Garrant Fort. Lewis Wetzel and Henry Six, her brother tried to get her back and ran up to the mouth of Yellow Creek on the Ohio River but lost her there. Years later another brother Lewis found her in Upper Canada not to far from Detroit and brought her back. She lived and is buried in Parkerburg. WV. She had md Charles Monger while captive and they had 3 children. He was killed at Fallen Timber. Their son stayed behind. but the 2 girls came back with Christiana. Lewis died at one of the Six's but was later brought back and is buried in Wheeling WV. The book "That Dark and Bloody River" has a lot about Lewis Wetzel. I also have some newsletter title" Bonnett and Kin " that are interesting. Do you have any of those?...................Now the Brookover......Josephus in the son of Dr John and Rebecca Tennett. Melissa Brookover is his daughter, my husbands Gmother. md James Six in 1900. The 1st John Brookover, Rev War, md Eliz. Pertley and after she died md Sarah Brown a widow. I have most of the children for both wives. I do have a copy of the Rev War pension application and will be glad to send you what I have. I really don't have a file on record. I am not very good at that stuff, but will tried to have my daughter help with that. I am using PAF from familysearch.org. Meanwhile I will be glad to send you copies of what I have.
