Rowland (Murph's) Death:
My brother was fatally injured in a logging accident on April 7th, 1988 while working in the woods for my Uncle Milon Bailey. He was cutting down a tree and when it fell, it fell in to the tree next to it. The top of this tree broke off and he was struck in the head. Even though he was wearing all the safety equipment he was severely wounded. After being taken to our local hospital in Coudersport, Pa, he was found to be so bad off that they had to life flight him by helicoptor to Jamestown, NY. WCA Hospital. It was a very rainy and foggy day, and several other hospitals had refused to fly. The pilot from this hospital called back and said he would be in the air as soon as he could. We rushed to be by his side and he was in a coma, and never came out of it.
He passed away on April 11th.
