Record for Sarah Blount John Rankin Whetsell, obituaries: Knoxville Journal, 20 February 1914, p.7 WHETSELL- Funeral services over the remains of John R. Whetsell, aged sixty years, whose death occurred Wednesday morning at his home at 44 Hart Avenue, will be conducted today at the old home in Blount County. The remains will be taken to Maryville this morning, and thence to the old home. Maryville Enterprise, 26 February 1914, p.5: John R. Whetsell, youngest brother of I.H. and M.F. Whetsell of Maryville died at his home in Knoxville last Wednesday. The body was brought to Maryville Friday for interment. Mr. Whetsell has been ill for some time and the end was not unexpected. Deceased was sixty years old.
