Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Littlefield, Mr. and Mrs. Van VanBuren, Mr. and , Mrs. William Kneasel, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Reuning and Mrs. Mary Franke attended the wedding of Martin Weiss and Clarissa Lind-quist at Smethport, Saturday.
Miss Clarissa . Ann Llndquist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Llndquist, Smethport, became the bride of Martin Duane Weiss, Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Saint Elizabeth's Church, Smethport. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo C. Weiss, Coudersport. The double-ring double-ring double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Joseph J. Grode. Vases of white gladioli and white pompons decorated the church. The pews were decked with white satin bows. Miss Dolores Dolores Witter played appropriate organ organ music and sang. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length floor-length floor-length gown of French lace and tulle over taffeta. taffeta. The lace basque bodice was designed with long lily sleeves and a sabrina neckline. The extremely bouffant skirt was styled with an illusion overskirt veiling an underskirt underskirt with shadow lace motif and was worn over bridal hoops. She wore a matching horseshoe crown with a small circular veil and carried a cascading bouquet of light yellow daisy mums. Serving as bridesmaids were Mrs. Bruce Atkins, Smethport, and Miss Ann Weiss, sister of the bridegroom. They wore identically-styled waltz-length frocks of embroidered nylon organza in white with mint green embroidery and matching cummerbunds cummerbunds with huge back bows. Matching horseshoe crowns with small circular veils and cascading bouquets of light yellow daisy mums completed their costumes. Serving as best man was Ronald Schroeder, of Coudersport. Ushers were Jon Sebolt, Coudersport; Robert Tyler Lindquist, brother of the bride, Smethport; and William Payne, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Port Allegany. The bride's mother's costume was a Dior blue print sheath dress. She wore matching white accessories and a corsage of white carnations. The bridegroom's mother chose a slate blue sheath dress with matching matching white accessories and a white carnation, corsage completed her costume. Following the ceremony a reception reception was held at the Smethport Country Club, which was decorated with white wedding bells and vases of orchid and white gladioli. Mrs. Weiss attended Smethport High School and Jean Summers Business School, Elmira. She had been employed by S. H. Elder & Company, Smethport. Her husband husband is a graduate of the Coudersport Coudersport Joint High School and is employed employed by the Radio Station WFRM. The newly-weds will make their home at the Five Elms, East Second Street, Coudersport. Pre-nuptial events included bridal showers given by Mrs. Edwin Wetzel and Miss Ann Weiss at the home of Mrs. B. F. Howard, Coud. ersport, and by Mrs. Fred Herri-man Herri-man Herri-man and Mrs. Bruce Atkins at the home of Mrs. Herriman, Smethport. Smethport. A dinner was given by Miss Carole Comes. The bride and bridegroom also were honored at a party given by the employees of WFRM.
Rose Mary McCormick, of Borie, visited Mrs. Susie Abbott pver the week-end.
Viola Rickert, of Langhorne, Pa., spent last week at the home of Mrs. Susie Abbott.
Mr. and Mrs. James Long, of Ridgway, visited Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Long, Sunday.
Martha Scabill, of Andrews Settlement, a niece of Mrs. Susie Abbott, visited her Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gustasson oi Natrona Heights, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson this week.
The Rev. Robert Loughborough Jr. returned last week from a month's vacation in England, Ireland and Scotland.
Miss Bessie Lehman, Mrs. Clair Strick and Miss Leona Eimer left Tuesday morning for Chautauqua. They will be gone a few days.
Mr and Mrs. Harry Plotts and son, Richard, of Niles, O., spent the week-end at their cottage (Silver Spruce Lodge) on the Ice Mine road.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Corey, of Chicago, 111., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Potocek. They came Saturday and plan to stay a week.
Mrs. Donna Specht drove from Brookside, N. J., Saturday for a month's vacation with her mother, Mrs. Carl Dudley, and her two sons, Billy and Jim, who arrived earlier in the summer.
Grady E. Poulard Jr. drove to Vermont Sunday where his wife has completed a summer course at Middlebury College. She will return return with him to spend the remainder remainder of the summer in Coudersport.
Those who attended the Plotts reunion at Picture Rocks (below Williamsport) Saturday were: Mr. and Mrs. Lester Plotts and son, Wayne, and Larry Powell of New Castle; Mr. and Mrs. James Plotts and son, Steven, Mrs. George Mitchell, Walter Plotts, Mr. and Mrs. William Long, of Coudersport.
