• Fred Glassmire
Fred Glassmire was born in Homer Township on May 25, 1931, a son of D. Fay and Jeanette F. Schuhmacher Glassmire. He was married to Jacqueline J. Furman on June 15, 1949 in Frederick, Md. She died on Sept. 25, 1969. Mr. Glassmire was a member of several sportsmen's clubs, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Potter County Historical Society, Potter County Motor Club, and the Port Allegany Moose.
A member of Steam Fitters' Local Union 810 in Williamsport, he was recently employed at the Leidy gas field. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nettie Glassmire of Coudersport; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Linda) Mosch of Lock Haven and Miss Eloise Glassmire, a freshman at the Altoona Campus of the Pennsylvania State University ; a son, Lance Corporal Daniel F. Glassmire at Okinawa ; two grandchildren; four brothers, Daniel F. Glassmire and Walter Glassmire, both of Inez; John Glassmire of Jonesville, Mich., and Lewis Glassmire of Coudersport RD; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Jeanette) Jacques of Long Island, N.Y. and Mrs. Eloise Cleaves of Altoona, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 7:00 o'clock tonight at the Grabe-Fickinger Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Robert Danielson, pastor of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Homer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity or church of one's choice.
