Glassmire Reception For 150 Guests. The marriage of Miss Edythe Mable Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar D. Snyder, and Lewis Lloyd Glassmire, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Faygar Glassmire, was solemnized Saturday evening at 8:00 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. J. Wilbur Drawbaugh, pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Vases of white pompons and lighted white candles decorated the altar. Mrs. Drawbaugh played appropriate wedding music including the traditional marches and Roland Rudolph sang "Because." The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose for her wedding ensemble a suit of royal blue shade with matching hat and a corsage of white roses. Her only attendant, Miss Nancy Owens, wore a gray suit with pink hat and a corsage of pink roses. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Walter Glassmire, and the ushers were Milton Snyder and Fred Glassmire, brothers of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs. Snyder, mother of the bride, chose a black gown with matching accessories and a corsage of white pompons and Mrs. Glassmire, mother of the groom wore a navy blue print and a corsage of white pompons. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Sweden Valley Grange Hall for approximately 150 guests. A buffet lunch was served at a table centered by a three-tiered cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Glassmire had their apartment, in the W. J. Stiles home, ready for their occupancy, and are now at home there. Both the bride and groom are graduates of Coudersport High School. Mrs. Glassmire is employed in the J. C. Penney Co. store and Mr. Glassmire is employed by G. L. F. Out of town guests were - Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chase, Ulysses; - Mr. and Mrs. Dan Glassmire and - Robert Nablow, Niagara Falls, N. Y.; - Mrs. Eloise Cleaves and - Edward Gent, Wellsville; and - Miss Jeanette Glassmire, New York City. Fay and Jeanette F. Schuhmacher Glassmire. He was married to Jacqueline J. Furman on June 15, 1949 in Frederick, Md. She died on Sept. 25, 1969. Mr. Glassmire was a member of several sportsmen's clubs, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Potter County Historical Society, Potter County Motor Club, and the Port Allegany Moose. A member of Steam Fitters' Local Union 810 in Williamsport, he was recently employed at the Leidy gas field. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nettie Glassmire of Coudersport; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Linda) Mosch of Lock Haven and Miss Eloise Glassmire, a freshman at the Altoona Campus of the Pennsylvania State University ; a son, Lance Corporal Daniel F. Glassmire at Okinawa ; two grandchildren; four brothers, Daniel F. Glassmire and Walter Glassmire, both of Inez; John Glassmire of Jonesville, Mich., and Lewis Glassmire of Coudersport RD; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Jeanette) Jacques of Long Island, N.Y. and Mrs. Eloise Cleaves of Altoona, and several nieces and nephews.
