Sherwood Paul F. Sherwood, 66, of Port Allegany died Tuesday (July 20, 1976) in Port Allegany Community Hospital following an extended illness. Born at Port Allegany, Jan. 20, 1910, he was a son of Willis and Catherine Tige Sherwood. He married the former Florence Tripp; she survives. Mr. Sherwood was a lifetime resident of the Port Allegany area. He was a retired employee of the Pittsburgh-Corning Corp. and a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Port Allegany. Surviving in addition to his widow are six daughters, - Mrs. Katherine Nichols, Roulette, - Mrs. Gloria Ours, Eldred, and - Mrs. Patricia Saltsman, - Mrs. Debra Thompson, - Mrs. Pauline Fuller and - Mrs. Jan Kio, all of Port Allegany; - a step-son, Paul Tripp, Port Allegany; 20 grandchildren; - a brother, Roland Sherwood, Port Allegany; three sisters, - Mrs. Olive Todd, Aiken, S.C., and - Mrs. Doris Burg and - Miss Marcella Sherwood, both of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service was conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald M. Lundeen, pastor of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Port Allegany, officiating. - Burial was in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
