Mary Ellen Farnsworth
Mary Ellen Farnsworth, 76, of 142 Barbour Street, Bradford, PA, passed away, Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born September 21, 1941 in Pontiac, MI, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Mable J. (Adams) Vaughn.
Mary Ellen was a 1959 graduate of Limestone Central School. She had attended secretarial school in Minnesota. For a time she had been employed by the Department of the Navy in Washington DC., she returned to the Bradford area, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, Bradford Campus. She had been employed by the State of Pennsylvania and worked as a supervisor for the Department of Labor for over 32 years.
On June 28, 1988 in Bradford, she married Robert A. "Whitey" Farnsworth who survives.
Mary Ellen was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler's fan, and her greatest joy came from camping with girls, "her hens".
In addition to her husband,
she is survived by two daughters,
- Brenda (Charles) Shaffner, of Portville, NY, and
- Jayne Lucco, of Bradford,
one son, Robert Pierrotti Jr., of Colorado Springs, CO,
two step sons
- Robert Farnsworth, Jr., of Kane, and
- Kevin (Nellie) Farnsworth, of Laurens, SC,
a step daughter, Starr (Tim) Silvis, of Kane,
two brothers,
- Richard Miller, of Collins, NY, and
- Felix Miller, of Limestone,
four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two great grandchildren two step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
six brothers and
one sister.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 1:00pm in the VFW Event Center. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Deloris M. Farnsworth ( May 06, 1935 - January 26, 2015 )
Deloris M. Farnsworth, 79, of 9106 Route 6, near Lantz Corners, died Monday afternoon, January 26, 2015 at her residence.
Born May 6, 1935 in Dubois, she was the daughter of Smith and Agatha Yale Harris.
Deloris had worked at Brockway Glass and drove school bus in Brockway. Later, she owned and operated the former Brown Derby, drove a garbage truck for Schaeffer's Disposal, did housekeeping for the Lutheran Home, and bartended, cooked and was a member at the former Loyal Order of Moose, all in Kane. She was an avid pool shooter and was champion of the Kane Tavern League several times.
She is survived by
- a daughter, Starr (Tim) Silvis of Lantz Corners;
sons
- Donald Rew of Rochester, N.Y.,
- Steve Vasilauskas of Reynoldsville,
- Robert Farnsworth, Jr. of Kane and
- Kevin (Nelly) Farnsworth of Laurence, S.C.;
six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, plus
- her former husband, Robert Farnsworth, Sr. of Bradford.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents, are
- her stepfather, Simon Vasilauskas;
- a bother, Harry Harris; and
stepsisters
- Louise McComas and
- Mary Ann Smail.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. from noon until 2:00 on Friday, at which time a service will be held there with the rev. Frank Eppley, pastor of the Emmanuel Mission Church in Kane, officiating.
- Interment will be in Brockport Cemetery at a later date.
