Allen Learn, communications technician, Seaman 1c and his buddy, Jake Otten, CTSN, of the U. S. Navy based at Washington, D. C.. spent a recent week- end at the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Learn and family.
James, Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott, has gone to WilkesBarre, where he re-enlisted for four years in the Air Force. He was discharged from this unit in May.
Cpl Leonard Howard arrived at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Howard, and family 017 Jan. 15 from Camp LeJeunne, N.C. for a 15-day furlough.
Sgt. Almon Dingman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Dingman, stationed in Germany, spent the holiday vacation with his aunt at Madrid, Spain.
Airman and Mrs. Rodger Wilson have been transferred to the Hamilton Air Base in California. Mrs. Wilson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Dingman of Myrtle,
Paul J. Sealy, 69, Dies In Olean Hospital
Funeral services for Paul J. Sealy, 69, Jordan Hill Road, Town of Wirt, who passed away Jan. 28. at Olean General Hospital, following a long| illness, were held at the Loop Funeral Home, Bolivar, last Friday.
A native of Shinglehouse, he was born Sept. 27, 1888, the son of Barton and Augusta Jones Sealy. He was married Oct. 25, 1907 at Ceres, to Miss Bessie DeRemer, who survives. He was smployed for 37 years at Buffalo by Republic Steel Company, and retired to his home three years ago. He was a member of the Lackawana Lodge 877, F. and AM.
Surviving besides his wife are
one daughter, Mrs. Darold Patterson of Olean;
two grandchildren, and
one sister, Mrs. Dewey Atherton, Endicott, N. Y.
The Rev. Sidney O. Harris of the Wellsville Baptist Church officiated at the funeral and
burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse..

Feb 3- The Harrison Valley Firemen were called to the home of Mahlon Hauber Sunday night about 10:00 pm to extinguish a chimney fire. Due to the quick response of the firemen, no serious damage was done.

“Bernard Hauber
Bernard G. Hauber, 75, of Coudersport, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1985, in Cole Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 3, 1909, in Harrison Valley, he was a son of Clarence and Ina Peak Hauber.
He was first married to Elmina Rossiter, who died Jan. 4, 1976.
He married Janet Conner Norton on Jan. 12, 1980, in Coudersport. She survives.
He graduated from Harrison High School in 1926. He attended Ohio Northern University, graduating in 1933 with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.
Mr. Hauber was a retired self-employed owner of a radio and TV repair service.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Eulalia Lodge 342 F&AM, serving as worshipful master in 1950 and secretary from 1953-1976. He was a member of Coudersport Royal Arch Chapter 263 and served as most excellent high priest in 1956. He was a member of Coudersport Council 63, R & SM, serving as thrice illustrious master in 1956.
He was a member of Potter Commandery 69 and served as eminent commander in 1954-55, and was a trustee at the time of his death. He was inducted into Penn Priory No. 6 Knights of the York Cross of Honor in May 1956. He was initiated into Scottish Rite Bodies of the Valley of Coudersport in June 1938. He was thrice potent master of Coudersport Lodge of Perfection in 1954-55.
He served as commander-in-chief of Coudersport Consistory from 1976-1978. At the time of his death, he was a trustee of the consistory.
He was coroneted honorary member of Supreme Council 33rd degee in 1970 in Milwaukee, Wisc. He was awarded the meritorious service award in 1963 and, at the time of his death, was chairman of the Coudersport Acasia Relief Fund.
He was a member of Park United Methodist Church of Coudersport, and served as trustee and on various boards.
He was secretary-treasurer of the Potter County Historical Society.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a
- step-daughter, Candace Achey of Lebanon;
- twin step-grandsons; and
- three brothers,
- Maynard Hauber of Caton, N.Y.,
- Mahlon Hauber of Ulysses and
- Clifford Hauber of Bath, N.Y.
A Masonic memorial service was conducted at the Fickinger Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 2.
A funeral service was held Jan. 3, at the Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul M. Lauchle, co-pastor of the Coudersport Larger parish of the United Methodist Church, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. William Bovard, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, Coudersport.
Burial was in Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport.
Memorials may be made to Park United Methodist Church, Potter County Historical Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.”
