Potter County Murder Suicide
Roulette, Potter County - A Potter County man killed his estranged wife this weekend, and then killed himself. State Troopers said they found Matthew and Cheri Baker's bodies in their Roulette home Sunday afternoon.
Troopers said Cheri went to her husband's home to discuss custody arrangements for their two-year-old son. That’s when they say he shot her in the head, set the house on fire, and killed himself. State police are calling it a murder-suicide.
The incident started Sunday afternoon when 29-year-old Cheri Baker stopped by the home of her estranged husband, 32-year-old Matthew Baker, at 14 Fourth street, according to a spokesman with Pennsylvania State Police.
The trooper says Matthew Baker shot Cheri in the head with a .22 caliber rifle. He then set the house on fire before shooting himself in the head. The Potter County Coroner pronounced both of the Bakers dead late Sunday night. The house fire extinguished itself, causing minor damage.
Both Matthew and Cheri Baker were pronounced dead at the scene by Potter County Coroner Kevin Dusenbury around 8:10 pm Sunday.
The trooper says the investigation into this incident is ongoing and investigators are awaiting autopsy results.

Cheri you have been a part of our family for 16 years and will continue to be a part of our family, you were always a joy to be around, and you gave us a beautiful grandson that we love so much. We wish Dezmond was where you wanted him. Like you and Matt wanted. We are working on this and will continue to work on this until you and Matts wishes are fulfilled. We love you as if you were our own daughter and always will. We will focus on Dezmonds care and happiness, and provide him with a good future. Please look down on us and help guide us through his growing years. We will take the best of care of yours and Matts son.
We love you and Matt dearly.

Our prayers are with you Cheri, we all miss you so much! You were the best aunt I could ever ask for. I'm sorry that times were tough with the families, but what families don't have problems or arguments? I'll never forget the wonderful day we celebrated 4 years ago. I was your maid of honor and I always will be. I shed my tears for the both of you. It hurts me so much to know your no longer with us. My memories of the great times we had will never be forgotten. I will cherish them more every day. May you rest in peace Cheri, and watch over the families and help keep us at ease. I miss you and love you so much Aunt Cheri!

We will never see your smile again.
We will never see you laugh again.
We will never see you hold your son again.

We will never see you drive by and wave again.
We will never be able to tell you goodbye again.
