Joseph G. Boden, 74 of Genesee died on the morning of Saturday Novemebr 27, 2021 at UPMC Cole.
He was Born September 19, 1947 in Chester, PA to Joseph H. and Alice (Everett) Boden.
He graduated from Coudersport High School, entered the Army and served his country in the Viet Nam War.
On August 17, 1968 he married Wanda Denhoff with whom he shared 53 years of marriage while raising their two children.
Joe loved sports, he was an avid Phillies, Nittany Lions, and Redskins fan, and he enjoyed golfing, playing softball, bowling, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose, and IAM 1580. He was a a union officer and a machinist at Dresser-Rand where he worked for 39 years before retiring. But he was best known for his good sense of humor and contagious laughter among friends.
Joe is survived by his wife: Wanda Boden of Genesee;
a son: Joseph Boden II (Michele) of Genesee;
a daughter: Renee' Boden of Coudersport;
three grandchildren:
- Joseph Boden III (Taryn),
- Andrew Boden, and
- Jake Boden (Hannah);
4 great-grandhcildren;
three sisters:
- Pat Loy,
- Nina Boden, and
- Christine Coole (Lawrence);
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
a sister: Peggy Kelsey, and
a brother: Henry Lewis.

Phyllis Denhoff
Phyllis Marie (Matteson) Denhoff, 83, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, N.Y.
Born September 9, 1932 she was the daughter of Mart and Helen M. Pelchy Matteson.
On January 1, 1949 in Coudersport she married James L. Denhoff, Sr. and celebrated their 50th Golden Anniversary January 1, 1999. He preceded her in death September 19, 2004.
She was a long time resident of Genesee, Pa. and worked for several years at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, Pa. Phyllis and Jim lived in Tucson, Ariz. where Phyllis retired from the Tucson Medical Center of Tucson, Ariz. After retirement Phyllis and Jim returned to Pennsylvania for a few years, then moved to Wellsville, N.Y., in 2002. She enjoyed reading, sports, especially baseball and grandchildren events. She enjoyed working in flower gardens.
Surviving are
her sons,
- James L. (Mary Gail) Denhoff, Jr. of Andover, N.Y., and
- Gary W. (Louise) Denhoff of Ulysses, Pa.,
daughters,
- Wanda (Joseph) Boden of Andrews Settlement, Pa., and
- Diane Kay Denhoff (James) Campbell of Wellsville, N.Y.,
13 grandchildren,
17 great-grandchildren, and
3 great- great grandchildren,
- sister; Agnas (Matteson) Currier of Wellsville, N.Y. and
- brother; Marion Matteson of Wellsville, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband,
son; Terry,
siblings;
- Orville Matteson,
- Alva Matteson,
- Ernest Matteson,
- Iva Austin, and
- Mildred Matteson.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 12-1pm at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 North East St. Coudersport, Pa., funeral services will follow at 1pm , Pastor Hank St. Amour of the Hebron Union Church officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Potter Unit, 1001 E. Second St., Coudersport, Pa. 16915.
