Thank you Randy!!
I will add this information and see where it leads. So much of the random information that I have often ends up tying into my tree, which is like a huge picture puzzle with no edges. [My father, 91, still always has one going in his den, so even that is 'in my genes'.]
I'll check your tree out for some more details.
Cross Fork, not far from Austin, was a large lumbering town which nearly died out entirely in the early 20th century. But you probably know that.
Which tree of mine are you accessing?
I don't sync, out of fear of losing or jumbling information in the process, so I occasionally upload a latest edition and will later remove an older one. The latest, which I just uploaded a week ago or so, is WETZEL-SPRING_2019Dez.

Frank Elmer Hall, b. May 25, 1873 in Keeneyville, PA in Tioga county and d. March 24, 1924 in Barnes, PA is my great great grandfather.
I did not know that until about 20 years ago when I started searching for my father's biological father. He was raised on a farm, just 3 miles outside of Austin in Potter county by Lloyd Tyler, who married his mother a couple of years after my Dad was born. That is what started my foray into genealogy, which has not stopped since then. Frank ended up in Cross Fork because was a company man working for the group who built the sawmill there. He was moved by them to Barnes after the mill in Cross Fork burned to the ground. His wife was Julia Anna Brown, b. July 26,1873 in Lawrenceville, PA and d. in Barnes on November 3, 1917. The niece that is living with them in Cross Fork has been a mystery for years; haven't been able to trace her forwards or backwards!
You can see my Hall line on my public tree on Ancestry. BTW, it is quite likely that your great grandmother is connected, at some point, to my Hall line. Sounds like a joint venture to solve that mystery!
Sincerely,
Randy Hall

Hi Randy,
I have two Frank E. Halls in my tree-
1. born 1892, my 2nd cousin 2x removed.
2. born 1874, no relation (so far), wife Mrs. Julia A. Hall, in 1910 lived in Cross Fork, PA.
I can see where this can be confusing, because I have many 'satellite' family groups, just looking for a connection.
My research interests have gotten a lot more complicated over the 25+ years I've been doing this. The advent of DNA testing for genealogy has opened an amazing horizon, which, among other things, exposed a half-sibling and a mystery that I have only zeroed-in on but still not solved.
This got me more interested in the area where I grew up, Potter County and environs. Several FB groups have fed this interest with some awesome photos and other information, with discussions that have been a gold mine for information, not all of it rigorously accurate but informative nonetheless.
So that is probably why.
And, a great grandmother was a Hall, in upstate NY...
To which Frank E. Hall are your related?
I would love to learn more about him.
Sincerely,
john wetzel

Hi John,
I am just curious. You have constructed a small family tree that includes some of my family members. Based on DNA results, I don't believe that we are related, even though I have extensive family ties throughout Potter county. I was wondering if you were researching this family or a reason. I could probably shed some light on some things.
Regards,
Randy Hall
