Bell, of Shinglehouse, recently received word that their son, Sergt. William E. Bell, is in India. ____ Serg. William E. Bell, Shinglehouse, has changed his address, indicating that he is now in over-seas service. His new address is: Serg. William E. Bell, (33158927), 89th Service Sqdn., 305th Service Group, A.P.O., care of Postmaster, New York City. ____ Convalescing in Rhoads Hospital Sgt. William Ed Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Bell of Shinglehouse reurned home January 18, after having spent more than two years in India. January 22 he was taken to St. Francis Hospital, Olean, suffering from an abcessed liver. February 3, he was transferred to Fort Niagara Hospital, and on February 14, was transferred to Rhoads General Hospital, Utica, NY, where he is now convalescing. February 26, Sergeant Bell will have served three years with the Army air forces. He has two other brothers in service: - Pvt. Calvin G. Bell, who is stationed at Camp Livinston, La, with an Infantry division and - Cpl. Russell M. Bell now serving with the army air forces in France.

Lloyd P. Bell, originally of Shinglehouse

ORLAND, Maine--Lloyd P. Bell, 74, died Thursday Feb 6, 2003 at a Penoboscot nursing facility.
Born Aug 8, 1928 om Shinglehouse. Pa, he was a son of William and Gertrude Pusey Bell.
Mr. Bell served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was involved with H.O.M.E. Co=op in Orland for them last eight years.
Mr. Bell is survived by three sisters, Jean Woodard of Shinglehouse, Jane Washburn of Guys Mills, Pa and Joan Herzog of Stockton, Calf; several nieces and nephews and many friends all over the United States.
He was predeceased by five brothers.
A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Feb 14, 2003) at the Wayside Chapel of St, Francis, Orland with Father Randy L. Eldridge officiating. Spring interment will be in St,. Francis Cememtery, Orland.
Memorials may be made to H.O.M.E. Co-op PO Box 10, Orland, Maine 04472 Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St, Bucksport.

Update - Apr 20, 2018 - LLoyd's ashes were moved from the Wayside Chapel to the Saint Francis Community Cemetery in East Orland. He is interred there with the stone marker.

Obit

Shinglehouse - William (Dutch) Bell, died at his home, Honeoye St., Shinglehouse, Wednesday morning. (Aug. 23, 1961)
Born July 14, 1893, at Glen Hope, Pa., Mr. Bell was a son of Frank and Ella (Mullins) Bell.
He had been a resident of Shinglehouse for the past 40 years.
In 1917, he married the former Gertrude Pusey, who died Monday morning Aug. 21.
Survived by three daughters,
- Mrs. James (Jean) Woodard of Shinglehouse,
- Mrs. Harvey (Jane) Washburn of Bradford and
- Miss Joan Bell of Shinglehouse,
- Glen Bell of Kings Run,
- Max Bell of Shinglehouse,
- Lloyd Bell at home,
- Lynn Bell of Fayettesville, Pa.,
- Donald Bell of Shinglehouse;
22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren,
- a sister, Mrs. Grace Rose, Glen Hope, Pa.,
- a brother, Russell Bell of Glen Hope.
Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Bell were held at the Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, at 11 a.m. today (Aug. 24, 1961). The Rev. George Snow, pastor of the Methodist Church of Shinglehouse, officiated.
- Burial was in Glen Hope, Pa. cemetery.
