Anthony Louis "Tony" Segulin, Sr., 89, of South Park, PA, formerly of Smethport
Smethport - Anthony Louis "Tony" Segulin, Sr., 89, of South Park, PA, formerly of Smethport, died Friday (August 21, 2009) in Mt.Vernon of South Park, PA, where he had resided since 2007.
He was born Sept 18, 1919 in Davis, WV, a son of Frank and Josephine Ujcic Segulin. On August 5, 1950, in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Smethport, he married Jenny A. Berne, who died on March 29, 2005.
Mr. Segulin was a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII from 1941 to 1945. He was owner and operator of Segulin's Quaker State, Smethport, for many years, until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport; the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport. Mr. Segulin enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, hunting, and was an avid reader of history and current events.
He is survived by
one daughter: Debbie (Dr. Barkley, Jr.) Daugherty of Olean, NY
Daughter In Law, Maryanne Pysola Segulin of Pittsburgh, PA
granddaughters, Jodi( Kevin) McKeever, Laurie Segulin, and Abbey Daugherty;
Grandson, Christian Daugherty
great grandchildren, Cameron And Allie McKeever.
one sister: Margaret Crosby of Port Allegany, PA
one brother: Joseph Segulin of Mt. Jewett, PA
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by
- a son, Anthony L. "Tony" Segulin, Jr., on April 1, 2009,
- 2 brothers; and
- 1 sister.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Tuesday, at 10 AM, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor, as Celebrant.
Committal will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport.
A Christian Wake service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 3:30 pm. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138, Smethport.

Barkley B. Daugherty, Sr.
Smethport - Barkley B. Daugherty, Sr., 86, of Smethport, PA, passed away Saturday (October 3, 2015) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
He was born January 8, 1929 in Falls Creek, PA, a son of Kenneth and Doris Love Daugherty. On March 10, 1951, at Trinity (Ansgarius) Lutheran Church, Smethport, he married Carolyn Gustafson, who survives.
Barkley was a 1947 graduate of Smethport High School. He was a truck driver for Quaker State Oil Refining Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smethport, where he was previously on Church Council and served as an usher. He helped build the first Lutheran parsonage in Smethport. He was also a former member of the Smethport Country Club.
Barkley is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 64 years, and two sons:
- Dr. Barkley B. (Deborah) Daugherty, Jr. of Olean, NY and
- William L. (Christine) Daugherty of Dumbries, VA. Also surviving are four grandchildren:
- Abbey,
- Alexander,
- Megan and
- Christian Daugherty,
one sister:
- Dona D. Oviatt,
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St, Smethport, PA. Funeral services will be held on Thrusday, Oct. 8, at 11 AM, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Joann Piatko, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
