COUDERSPORT - William L. "Bill" Roberts, 102, of Coudersport, passed away Friday (Oct. 28, 2016) at Sweden Valley Manor.
He was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Parsons, a son of William A. and Mae Grant Roberts.
He married the former Letha Crosby on Nov. 20, 1937, in Coudersport. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2004.
Bill graduated from Plains Memorial High School in Wilkes-Barre. He was associated with Barnett Brother's Headwater Potatoes of Ulysses for more than 60 years.
In 1980, he received his associate degree from Penn State. In 1983, he received his bachelor's degree in philosophy, and in 1988 he received his master's of arts degree in anthropology from Penn State University.
He was a member of the Park United Methodist Church of Coudersport. He served in various Masonic bodies in Coudersport and was a member of both the Society for Pennsylvania Archeology and the Potter County Historical Society.
He was an avid bike rider.
He enjoyed making copper weather vanes, iron railings, multiple wood shop items and donating his wood creations to non-profit locations. He built his own house.
Bill's survivors include
- his daughter, Lynne Dale of Cumberland, Md.;
- along with two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bills Celebration of Life will begin with a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 North East St., Coudersport, with services to follow at 2 p.m. with his pastor the Rev. Scott Ogden officiating.
Burial will be in Homer Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hancock attended the wedding of her niece, Miss Lynne Roberts, and Ensign Scott Duncan at Park Methodist Church Saturday afternoon and the reception which followed in the church parlors.
The Hancooks entertained at a dinner party at 8:00 p.m. Guests were

Sesquiceniennial Meeting Thursday Night
Photographers will be on hand for pictures at Thursday night's Sesqucentennial meeting at 7:30 at the Fire Hall. Come In attire for the celebration. June 16, everyone is invited to participate.
The sesquicentennial plates In white with gold trim and an old picture of Roulette's business - section are on sale at Scheibner's Grocery as long as the supply lasts.
Roulette Locals
The Ladies Firemen Auxiliary will meet in their hall June 20 at 8:00 pjn. Mrs. Albert Dates and Mrs. Ralph Shepherd will serve as hostesses. The group will sponsor a stand at the Pioneer Jamboree on Monday and'. Friday evenings with a sale, of candy and cookies, and it welcomes any donations.
