Port Allegany - Charles R. Nunn, 72, of the Grimes District, RD1, Port Allegany, died Wednesday in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born May 1, 1915, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Allen F. and Mary McNally Nunn. On April 14, 1934, in Limestone, NY, he married Winifred Freer, who survives.
A lifelong resident of the area, he had been employed by Pittsburgh Corning Corp until his retirement.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Port Allegany.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons,
- Edwin C. Nunn of Las Cruces, NM and
- Aan F. Nunn of Roulette,
teo daughters,
- Mrs Carole Bernal of Las Cruces, and
- Mrs. Joanne Boyd of Wilmington, Ill,
15 grandchildren
11 greatgrandchildren,
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends will be received after 2 pm today and until the time of services at 11 am Saturday at the Switzer Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Tulloch, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery.
