Where they live, any children, when he died? I inherited some genealogical material which claims this John as our ancestor, but cites no supporting evidence. The John Compton who was my 3G Grandfather, spent most of his life in Southwestern Virginia, now Tazewell or Bland County, having shown up on land and court records there in about 1780 and continuing until his death in about 1807. He may have lived in Maryland and/or Northern Virginia before migrating down the Shenandoah Valley to Virginia. John and "Rebekah's" children were: - John, Jr., - Samuel, - Elizabeth, - Ebenezer, - Cornelius, and - Richard. Also, he may have been married twice. Any information will be appreciated. Gary Compton
