Major E N Stebbins was born at Hammondsport, NY on October 27, 1835; about 1850 the Family moved to Coudersport, PA and in the Public Schools of this city received his education; 1855 the family moved to Green Bay, WI where he engaged in the Mercantile business. Returned to New York and the to Bridgeport, CT where he met Mary Treat Clapp, whom he married. Edward married Mary Treat CLAPP, daughter of Stillman Sprague CLAPP and Elizabeth LAMB on 2 Oct 1866 in Bridgeport, CT. Mary was born on 3 Dec 1841 in New York City, NY.
