Vida Duretha Barr was the daughter of Milton Saul Barr and Mary Elizabeth Miller.
Her Barr family goes back to John Barr 1st who came from Mayo County, Ireland about 1770.
Her maternal grandfather was George Washington Miller, great grandfather Daniel Benjamin Miller from Iowa.
Story relayed by Vida Barr to Paul Walworth of Sweeney, TX{ “Well one of our ancestors died back in 1952 and he had some land, a mountain in Pennsylvania. My grandmother Vida Barr use to talk about it, saying that we were in line to a oil well. Well it was gas wells and timber. The estate was, at one time worth 198 thousand dollars. After taxes, and all that other stuff it was worth around 45 thousand dollars. From there it went to 19, I believe people. The government has a system of distributing estates and I am 1/75th so my part was $36.83. I told my wife that they probably would hang onto it for another 49 years and send us a bill.” Paul Sweeny Texas
