  [SHAY 15010 Silas.FTW] Winder served with Company G, 12th Mississippi Calvary in the Confederate States of America. Winder and his family moved to Arkansas soon after 1850. Winder received a homestead at the northeast quarter of the southeast quarter of section five in Township seven north of range twenty-eight west containing forty acres in Franklin Co., AR on July 2, 1883. Winder's heirs, John Madison McMath, Charles Claudius Cooper, and Nancy Anne (McMath) Cooper, Alexander Houston Horn and Hattie Caroline (McMath) Horn, William Edgar Carter and Edna Arvie Lou (McMath) Carter sold the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section four and of the northeast quarter of the southeast quarter of section five of township seven, north of range twenty-eight west containing eighty acres to J.C.
