MORE THAN A CENTURY FARM
The Roulette farm operated by the Kaple family was recently honored with the state's Century Farm designation, but in reality, the farm has existed much longer than 100 years.
The land was purchased in 1836 by French immigrants Henry and Marie Yentzer, ancestors of Kathryn Kaple, who, with her husband arthur, (shown together in photo) lives in the original, remodeled farmhouse today.
The Kaples' son Theodore took over the family farm in 1980 and continues to run the business. Each year, over Fourth of July Weekend, the family donates the use of their pond for the annual children's fishing derby, an event which has continued for 16 years.
