The decedent was born in 1852 in Elk county, about four miles from Ridgway, and was 82 years, 4 months, and 7 days. Following the trade of lumberman, he was twice a resident of Sheffield, several years in Coudersport intervening between his first arrival and the making of his home with his son in 1925. He was married in Sheffield in 1872 to Angeline Walker who passed away in February 1877, then in 1879 to Melvina Stroute (sic: Stroup), who died in February 1927. Sixteen children were born as the result of these unions, seven of whom survive: - William of Sheffield, - Clarence of Barnes, - Elsworth of Corning, N.Y.; - Loyal of Buffalo, N.Y.;J.R. and - Leonard of Coudersport; and - Bell Pequeen of Olean, N.Y. 52 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Tueasday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Free Methodist church, Barnes, Rev. John A. Bargar officiating. - Interment was made in the Barnes cemetery. The bearers were: Emil Henry, James Hayes, A.C. Baynes, Gust Weiner, Isaac Elmquist, and W.T.
