Son of Lucy Tennant and John Hoskins, both of WV,
Coleman was born in Grant District, Monongalia Co. to a 16 year old Lucy.
Lucy later married William Hamilton, the family lived in Days Run, Clay Dist. WV.
William worked as a pumper and Coleman as a teamster, both in the oil industry.
Lucy and William had a son, Coleman's half brother.
While living with the Hamiltons, Coleman used his father's surname of Hoskins, however, once he was on his own, he used his mother's surname of Tennant for the rest of his life, a testament to how much he knew she loved him.
Husband of Mabel Owens, father of Robert Tennant and Coleman Ward Tennant.
The Tennants lived on N. Balph Ave., Ross Twp., he was a truck driver, apparently died overnight, at home, of undetermined causes and was buried in Mt. Nebo Aug 19, 1930.
