He resided Came to America; settled in Orangeville.. He resided 58 years in Genesee County: Elba, Stafford, Indian Falls.. He was buried in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba, New York (W. of Rt. 98 on West Ave.). Henry Wiedrich was German Protestant. Came to America in 1832. It is presumed that he may have come to America with Michael Wiedrich, as they came at the same time, and were 2 years apart, arriving in the Western N. Y.area, however, they could have been cousins. More research needs to be done on Michael Wiedrich, who was a commanding officer at Gettysburg in the Civil War, and an historical figure. The records will be corrected as needed, when more information is known. In the 1850 census, Michael Wiedrich is listed in Erie County, Buffalo, 4th Ward. He is the only Wiedrich listed. George and Michael are listed in the 5th Ward in Buffalo in the 1860 Erie County Census. Henry Wiedrich is first listed (2 entries) in the page 31 and 32 1860 New York Census, Genesee County. The only other Wiedrich listed in New York at this time is Godfrey Wiedrich in New York City. In "Personal References of Genesee County" Henry Wiedrich is noted to have come to to the United States with his parents when six years old, from Alsace, Germany, in 1822. That would mean he would have come at about 1828. "Mr. Wiedrich's (John) father, Henry Wiedrich, was born in Alsace, Germany, in 1822, and came to the United States with his parents when 6 years old, locating in Wyoming County, where he was educated in the district schools. He married Elizabeth Ditman of Germany. They had 9 children: George, Henry, Jr., John, William,Elizabeth, Catherine, Carrie, Augustus and Edward. Father and mother are both living at this date, 1898."... Family Plot is in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Established 1861, In Elba, New York.
