- Life Sketch, Frederick August Teuscher/Tauscher:
Frederick August Tauscher was born in the Kingdom of Saxony and married Dorothea Buchdaw, they migrated to America in 1840. Two of their children, Henry & Theodore, died in Saxony before the family came to America. The surviving children Were:
- Jacob, who married Alice Ryan in New York,
- Frederick William,

- Fredericka, who married Adolph Fourness and
- the youngest son Charles William, my Great Grandfather married Caroline Yentzer,
and then Augusta the youngest daughter who married Caroline's brother Peter Yentzer.
Frederick August Teuscher [about half of the family spelled Teuscher & the other half Tauscher] with his wife Dorothea, sailed from Euope to New York, City, traveled by wagon from New York to Potter County, Pennsylvania on the Boone Road>
Mr Teuscher was a shoemaker.
He purchased land in Sweden Township, where other Saxons were settling at the time.
The orginal Teuscher family was known as the Dashie family. The name was later written "Dasher", By the Eighteen seventies the Teuscher spelling was the acceptable written form. However, Charles William Teuscher's sons spelled the name "Teuscher", and Tauscher similarly, Jacob's sons. then Carl Henry & Frederick William were using the "Tauscher" and their descendants use the Tauscher today.
It can be stated that the Teuscher & Yentzer, families of Potter County, Pennsylvania were a synonymous family.
Charles William, was a Physician and a Farmer, he also owned a Saw-Mill at Fishing Creek, and a Tannery, and
his daughter was a druggist and they owned and operated a Drug-store.
