John Roland Huffman was born on June 16 1888 in Charlotte, Michigan. He married Margaret "Gretchen" Koenig on January 6, 1911 in Smethport, McKean County, Pennsylvania. They bought a house at 209 East Water Street and settled down to raise a family. Margaret and John were the proud parents of three sons, Leonard, Bernard, and James. They also had a beautiful daughter Ellen Louise. Margaret and John celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in that home on Water Street.

Mr. and Mrs. John Huffman of Smethport spent the weekend at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Chitester.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Nelson and son Ronnie and Mr. and Mrs. James Coppersmith of Emporium were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hults Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hults were Christmas dinner guests of Mrs, Burt Hults cf Port Allegany and in the evening, they visited Mr. and Mrs. James Coppersmith of Emporium. Emporium.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rexford and son Gene, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Swartout and daughter, Gail were Christmas visiters at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rexford and family of Derrick City, Pa.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chitester and family of Saginaw, Mich., are home for the holidays visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Chitester and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lovell of Port Allegany.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Crittenden of Mansfield, Mr. and Mrs. John White and daughter, Kathleen of Rochester and Clyde Wells of Bradford were recent callers at the home' of Mr. and Mrs. Wells Carpenter.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Minns and children. Tommy, Janet and Alan of Dubois; Mrs. C. C. Carpenter and Mrs. Clinton Lent were Monday dinner guests of Mrs. Joseph Guenter and Miss Fannie Perkins.
