Gladys C. Morrison, 92, Laurelbrooke Drive, Brookville, formerly of East Main Street, Brookville, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.
Born Sept. 24, 1919, in Falls Creek, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Chittester and Lottie Matthewes Chittester.
She was married to William L. Morrison Jr. June 8, 1946, in Brookville. He preceded her in death Jan. 8, 2012.
She had been a homemaker.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Brookville and a past matron of honor of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 320 of Brookville.
She is survived by
- one son, William A. Morrison of Brookville;
- one daughter, Susan Bane of Columbia, Md.;
- two brothers,
- Kenneth Chittester and
- William Chittester, both of DuBois;
- one sister, Jean (Alfred "Buck") Mong of Franklin;
- five grandchildren; and
- three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one infant son;
- four brothers:
- Larry,
- Dale,
- Robert, and
- Tom Chittester;
- and one sister, Ruth Crawford.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Caves Jr. and the Rev. Mick Chittester officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Windy Hill, Rose Township, Jefferson County.
