Miss Vera Mclsaac Wed In Single Ring Ceremony
Gowned in White Silk For Marriage To John P. Pekarski in St. Eulalia Church -- Mrs. Gloria Moshier Matron of Honor.
-------------
Miss Vera Mae Mclsaac, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCann, became the bride of John P. Pekarski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Pekarski, at a pretty wedding at St. Eulalia Church, Saturday morning, at 10:00 o'clock. The Rev. Francis M. O'Connell officiated at the single ring ceremony before a background of seasonal flowers effectively arranged.
Miss Gertrude Jordan, organist, offered appropriate music while the guests were assembling and the traditional wedding marches and John M. Beckman sang "On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother," and Rosewig's "Ave Maria."
The bride, who was escorted by her father, chose a model of white silken train. The bodice was fastened with tiny buttons from neck to waist in the back and was fashioned with an off-shoulder neckline with sheer yoke and long sleeves ending in points over the hands. The skirt was trimmed with a V-shaped in sert of narrow lace ruffles coming to a point at the waist and widening toward the hem. Her fingertip length veil was attached to a heart-shaped bonnet with seed pearl trim. She carried a rosary and her bouquet was fashioned of white lilacs, rosebuds, gardenias and lilies of the valley against a white net fan background with white ribbon streamers knotted with lilies of the valley. Her only ornament was a strand of pearls.
Her matron of honor was Mrs. Gloria Moshier. Her gown was floor length in orchid shade made princess style with full skirt. The bodice was buttoned down the front with high neck and Peter Pan collar. She wore a matching picture hat with flower trim at the back and matching mitts. Her bouquet was fashion-ioned of lilacs, roses and lilies of the valley in orchid, yellow and white and tied with yellow ribbons.
The bridesmaids were
- Mrs. June Angood and
- Miss Lois Bradley.
Their dresses were primrose yellow and were fashioned similar to that of the matron of honor. They wore matching picture hats and mitts and their bouquets were tied with orchid ribbons. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Walter Pekarski, and Frank Pekarski, another brother, and George Dubots, a brother-in-law, were ushers.
Mrs. McCann, mother of the bride, chose a navy blue gown with black accessories and Mrs. Pekarski, mother of the bridegroom, wore an aqua print dress with black accessories. They wore corsages of gardenias.
A reception for relatives and a few intimate friends was held at the McCann home from 1:00 to 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon and another reception in the evening at the home of the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. George Dubots. Mr. and Mrs. Pekarski are at home in an apartment in the home of her parents.
The bride has been employed in the office of the Anchor Toy Corporation and the bridegroom is employed by the Coudersport and Port Allegany Railroad Company.
