Whether or not the family "table" in "Plymouth Armada Heroes" is correct - dates are facts. 4 - Using these dates, the possibility of a first wife is likely. The family "table" in "Plymouth Armada Heroes" is very possibly correct in listing Agnes Edgecombe as his first wife. 5 - a Listing from "Descendants of William Hawkins and Sir John Hawkins" - also lists Agnes Edgecombe as his first wife. 6 - Wikipedia does not list a first wife - BUT gives William's time in India dating from - 1609 -and reads "The emperor even granted authorization for Hawkins but made it a condition that Hawkins marry local Indian woman. Hawkins consented to the match, conditionally on her not being a Moor, and accordingly he took as his wife the daughter of an Armenian Christian.[9] The one who was became Hawkins' wife was Mariam Khan, a daughter of an influential merchant in the court of the Mughal Emperor Akbar and Jahangir.[citation needed]" - AGAIN 1609 7 - Dates - again - Miriam Khan - whose profile gives no evidence of a 1580 birth date - making her 15 years old when - supposedly - she was having a child in England in 1595. 8 - are we supposed to think that Miriam's parents sailed to England and married her to this William in 1694 just so she could have a son in 1595 in Devon, England - AND - then sailed with her BACK TO INDIA where she could marry this William again in 1609 ??? 9- Dates - again - Miriam - NOT IN ENGLAND in 1595 - make the possibility of a first wife VERY likely. 10 - whether William's first wife was actually Agnes Edgecome is not certain - but what is certain is the Miriam Khan WAS NOT - COULD NOT be the mother of William's son who was born in England in 1595 <<< 11 - restoring Agnes Edgecombe as wife an mother of John Hawkins born in England in 1595 Less Last Changed: May 3, 2025 S S Mould Legacy Disputes July 11, 2011 The following are old dispute notes that were submitted by patrons in the past.   This John is probably a composite, since different baptism & immigration dates- jcw 26.02.2014 John Hawkins http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=gwt1&id=I2564. Based on the above website, John came over with mother in 1639 but stayed with his father and bought land nearby on New Poquoson River (also near uncle Thomas ). He married Susannah and had at least two boys, John Jr. and Edward. John was not mentioned in his father's will in 1654. He died about 1675 in York County, Virginia..
